This study shows structural topology optimization by the design domain with partial phases of solids and voids in order to improve convergence of optimization. Conventionally, an initial design domain is composed of intermediate solid regions. Since there is no difference among neighboring element density values in this initial design domain, it is very difficult to enforce finite changes of design variables during the initial several stages of optimization, As a result, slow convergence may occur and surely it is slow during the starting several iterations.
